Born Julianna Isabella Pollifrone in San Jose, California in 1998, known simply as “Jules” was a writer long before she’d ever set foot in a recording studio in the San Francisco Bay Area and ultimately, Los Angeles. blossomed as an original songwriter; she’d been journaling since she was eight, to exorcise her school frustrations. What began as journal entries and writing poetry in her bedroom at the tender age of eight, evolved into composing melodies with her first cheap Yamaha guitar she received at Christmas. By Junior high school, Jules had memorized virtually every Taylor Swift song along with chord progressions and began performing worship music at her church in Los Gatos. She provided entertainment for Mexico and Guatemala mission trips with worship and cover tunes, like Train’s “Drops of Jupiter”and Taylor Swift songs.

Jules’ fledgling career eventually segued into work for hire singing at local restaurants, wineries, open mics, even bars; traversing musical landscapes from gospel to blues, to folk and ultimately indie-pop.  Finally, Jules began performing at larger venues opening numerous times throughout Northern California for 80’s MTV legend and local radio DJ, Greg Kihn along with other bands.

At 16, her debut EP, “Stories Never Told” recorded in 2015 in Campbell, California, produced by local producer and musician Robert Berry (Hush, Emerson Lake & Palmer), featured “Telephone Line” which appeared on weekend rotation on San Francisco’s KFOG radio and selected as top 20 song for the Summer 2015 by online Jango Radio. Subsequently, encouraged to attend a San Francisco songwriting workshop by producer Ken Caillat (Grammy, “Rumours”, Fleetwood Mac) she showcased her debut EP and “Telephone Line”.

The song caught the attention of British producer-composer, Richard Harris who encouraged Jules to co-write and record with him in Los Angeles. Her arrival coincided with a singer-songwriter renaissance and resurgence of sorts in the southland. Recording in various LA studios, like 17 Hertz and the historical Village Recorder she consistently garnered the attention of other new producers wanting to record with her. One of which, Willie  Donut (Justin Bieber and Fergie) produced the single, “Pressure” to be released in early 2018.

On October 11, 2017 at 19, Jules just won the Leigh Weimer’s Emerging Artist Award is knee-deep recording her second album with her writing partner Richard Harris and a trusted handful of LA-based writer/producers. Her touted debut single “Eyes Shut” written with Harris will drop November, 2017 in Downtown San Jose.
